Didim to get a new governor

DIDIM is to get a new governor after the present incumbent İskender Yönden completed his three-year stint.

Mr Yonden, who has overseen a number of improvements across the town, is moving on to the district of Kestel in the city of Bursa.

Meanwhile, Didim’s new governor will be Mehmet Türköz, a married father of one who is presently governor of Dulkadiroğlu, Kahramanmaraş Province.

The decision on the appointment, along with other official announcements of the General Command of Gendarmerie, the chiefs of property administration and the chiefs of police in the Ministry of Interior, was published in the Official Gazette.

Mr Yönden was highly regarded for his love and open dialogue with the public during his time in Didim.

He is expected to stay in Didim until after the Bayram after some farewell visits in the week.

Mr Turköz was born on September 14, 1971 in Denizli’s Çal district. He completed his high school education in İzmir at primary school and secondary school.

He graduated from Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Justice in 1991, and Public Administration Department, Faculty of Political Sciences, Ankara University in 1995.

He started to work as a Budget Specialist at the Ministry of Finance General Directorate of Budget and Fiscal Control.

He then worked as an Assistant Insurance Inspector at the Insurance Inspection Board of the Social Insurance Institution.

In 1998, he won the Kaymakamlık exam and started his career as a candidate for Denizli Kaymakam. Uşak’s Karahallı, Kütahya’s Dumlupınar and Konya’s Güneysınır districts.

He successfully completed a course at Nottingham University.
