A ROMANTIC two days on the Aegean marked a 25th anniversary wedding present for a lucky lady this week.
Mike Butters booked the Flying Fish for his wife Denise as a surprise for their silver wedding. The boat was booked as a private charter to Bodrum where the couple enjoyed the city’s cosmopolitan air.
Mr and Mrs Butters, from Evesham, in Worcestershire, England, who have an apartment in Didim, were able to enjoy a sunny day on Tuesday as the boat left Altinkum and skirted round to Bodrum.
The Flying Fish is a floating five-star cruiser owned by Hakan Çetinkaya with his British wife Laura Bower. The boat offers the first ever direct boat cruise service from the resort to Kos, as well as private cruises along the Aegean coastline
Mr Butters said: “We had an absolutely fabulous time on the boat. It was the ideal anniversary gift and Denise was over the moon with it.
“We could not have asked for better weather as we headed out and the way the crew looked after you, it was like being in a five star hotel. The food was great and the boat moved like a dream in the water. Overall, Denise and I were very impressed.”
The couple, who have two children, aged 20 and 17, spent time in Bodrum on the Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning before heading back to Altinkum.
Mr Butters said: “Denise knew there was going to be a surprise and did ask me what she should wear. In the end, I had to tell just so that she knew what take. We were looked after every step of the way by Hakan and his crew.
“We are just so glad to have taken the opportunity to sail on the Flying Fish.”
Denise said: “Everything was perfect about the experience from the weather, the food on the boat, the atmosphere. It was icing on the cake.”
Laura added: “Fortunately Poseidon smiled on the couple’s trip as they had lovely weather on the first day and acceptable weather on the second. They missed waves, wind and rain by just an hour that all kicked off after docking back into harbour at Altinkum.”
