DIDIM Council has signed up to host a Vegan Festival next year.

As part of an agreement with the Turkey Vegan and Vegetarian Society, Didim has agreed to host the festival – in a first for Turkey – on April 7 and 8 next year.

Didim Municipality is among one of the first to cooperate with promoting vegan and vegetarianism as part of a protocol signed with the TVD.

Didim Mayor Deniz Atabay signed the agreement with TVD’s President Ebru Arima. Former Minister Bahattin Yücel also attended the ceremony.

Mr Atabay said: “Turkey’s first vegan-friendly municipality is Didim Municipality. We have a number of great projects planned with international participation for this festival. April 07-08, 2017 are the dates we have agreed.

“We will also cooperate with project-related studies and share more with the press.”
