THE 95th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey will be celebrated across the country on October 28-29.

The celebrations in Didim will revolve around the Atatürk monument at Cumhuriyet Square.

As per previous years programmes, there will be a wreath laying ceremony at Atatürk Square with the Didim Governor, civic dignitaries, school administrators and students in attendance on Sunday October 28.

On Monday October 29, the celebrations will begin at 10am at the Republic Square with the Didim governor, the garrison commander and the mayor in attendance. There will be a moment of silence before the National Anthem.

After the speech of the governor Mehmet Türköz, students of the district will be awarded prizes in the painting, poetry and essay contest.

Students of the Esra Karakaya Anatolian High School will read the poems of the Republic and the Mahir Özgür Damar Primary School students will be exhibiting the plays of Aydın. DAHOT fol dance teams will present a show.

Didim Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School will also hold a parade.
