11 beaches in Didim receive Blue Flag status

For tourists and local residents in Didim looking for a safe quality beach to laze on will have the pick of 11 this summer.

Several beaches and one marina have been awarded the Blue Flag status. The internationally recognised eco-label lauds high water quality, environmental management, education and safety at the spots.

The Blue Flag beaches across Didim and Akbuk are:

The Holiday Resort Hotel;
Venosa Beach Resort & SPA;

Didim Municipality Hotels Front Public Beach;
Didim Beach Resort;
Didim Municipality Altınkum Public Beach;
Didim Municipality 3rd Bay Public Beach;
Aquasis De Luxe Resort & Spa;
Büyük Anadolu Didim Resort;
Duja Didim;
Didim Municipality Tavşanburnu Nature Park;
Didim Marina

The Aydin province is the fourth biggest province in Turkey to be awarded Blue Flags.

The Turkish Environmental Education Foundation (TÜRÇEV) has listed a total of 531 beaches, 24 marinas, five individual yachts and 15 tourism boats for the Blue Flag award.

Didim Mayor Ahmet Deniz Atabay stated that they are proud of the blue flag status for their beaches.

He added: “The efforts of our Didim Municipality teams are very important in winning these blue flags. I would like to thank them once again for their hard efforts.”

Stating that the beaches with the blue flag are an important gain in terms of tourism, Atabay said that they will continue to work to develop Didim.
