Ambassador predicts 4 million British visitors to Turkey in 2024

British Ambassador Jill Morris is visiting local authorities in Muğla province and its districts. In her statement in Bodrum, Morris stated the number of tourists coming to Turkey from the United Kingdom increased year by year after the epidemic, and that he expected more than 4 million visitors to come to Turkey in 2024.

Morris visited the mayor of Bodrum, Ahmet Aras, from CHP in his office along with Consul Chief Clerk Neale Jones MBE, Justice and Home Affairs Counselor Abigail Grove, Justice and Home Affairs, Anti-Terrorism Policy and Program Personnel Johanne Lamirande, Anti-Terrorism Police Officer Alan Judd, United Kingdom Mugla Region Vice Consul Nazlı Hamitoğlu, and  United Kingdom Honorary Consul in Bodrum Aslı Erbektaş.

Stating that they have implemented various projects outside of tourism, Ahmet Aras stated that the municipality supports projects for agriculture and that they will continue to contribute to projects such as soilless agriculture in order to make agricultural activities of Bodrum higher quality and sustainable.

During the meeting, activities that strengthen cultural interaction and friendship relations were discussed, while Bodrum’s relations with the surrounding Greek islands in particular, Leros Peace Festival and Kos Friendship Concert, which are joint events and realized projects, were mentioned.

During the meeting, Ambassador Morris stated that the number of tourists coming to Turkey from the United Kingdom increased year by year after the epidemic, and that she expected more than 4 million visitors to come to Turkey in 2024.
