An educational and fun awareness event was held in Didim for children with autism and special needs.

Organized in collaboration with the Didim Autism and Special Needs Children Association and the Didim Sailing Club, the event allowed the children to experience an unforgettable day sailing on sailboats.

The sea excursion, carried out under the slogan “We sail together, we bring hope together,” aims to increase children’s participation in social life and raise awareness in society.

Following the event, Eda Demir, President of the Didim Autism and Special Children’s Association, stated that every child has a unique developmental journey.

Demir, who established a meaningful connection between the sea and the children’s inner worlds, said: “Every child’s developmental journey is different. We continue to be by our children’s side on this journey, supporting them in discovering their potential and nurturing their hopes together.

“Just as the sea offers a different route to every sailboat, each of our children has their own unique world. Today, we touched those worlds with love, understanding, and hope.”

Eda emphasized the positive impact of such events on children’s self-confidence and development.

She concluded: “Today, we are not just setting sail; we are also setting sail for our children’s self-confidence, happiness, and dreams. The patience, understanding, and warm smiles we show as a society will transform this into an unforgettable experience for them.”
