According to housing property sales data, 2,268 residential properties were sold throughout Aydin province in July with several being purchased by British and German investors.

Information from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) revealed that second-hand homes dominated the market in Aydin. Of the total housing sales, 1,586 were second-hand homes, while the number of new (first-hand) home sales was recorded as 682.

Aydın was also a focal point for foreign investors due to its tourism potential and coastline. A total of 24 residential properties were sold, along with one commercial property to foreigners in July. A total of 2,120 residential properties were sold to foreigners across Turkey.

When the distribution by country of origin is examined, European countries lead in real estate purchases in Aydın.

Citizens from Britain and Germany share the top spot with 7 property purchases each. These countries are followed by Ireland, the Russian Federation, and Iran with 2 properties each.

Citizens of Lithuania, France, Uzbekistan, and Bermuda purchased 1 property each in Aydin province.

On the commercial real estate side, the only business premises sale to a foreigner was to a Romanian investor.

Real estate activity in Aydın followed a trend consistent with the general trend across Turkey. Nationwide, in July, first-hand housing sales decreased by 8.6% to 42,529, while second-hand housing sales decreased by 20.8% to 81,074.

While Russian Federation citizens topped the list of foreign buyers nationwide, in Aydın specifically, the high number of buyers from the UK and Germany once again highlighted the unique investor profile of the Aegean region.
