An investigation is underway after a British man was found dead at his home in Didim.

Local reports said Mr Stuart Lee Duncanson, a 61-year-old who lived with his mom and dad in the Yeşiltepe area of Akyeniköy, was found dead at the detached home.

Voices understands that Mr Duncanson, who was from Barrhead, near Glasgow, was discovered by a family member yesterday (Sunday October 18).

Security and medical teams were dispatched to the address. Upon entering the house, the teams found Mr Duncanson dead, having been shot with a rifle. Initial investigations at the scene suggested that Mr Duncanson may have taken his own life.

Mr Duncanson, who was reported to have been experiencing health problems for some time, was taken to the morgue for a forensic examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Detailed investigations conducted by security forces at and around the scene revealed no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

A friend, who wished to remain anonymous, expressed their shock, saying: “He was a wonderful person. We will miss him terribly. I just can’t believe it.”

The Public Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of death.
