A massive shopping mall is to be built around an hour away from Didim, it has been revealed.
The Novada Forum Project, planned by Turkmall, will be built between Bodrum and Milas at the Bosphorus Junction, which is around 15 minutes from Bodrum Airport.
The shopping mall, featuring food and beverage areas, entertainment units, and a premium outlet concept in the future, will feature, in its first phase, 20,000 square meters of rentable space on a 60-acre plot of land, with a parking area for 1,500 vehicles.
The site overall is expected to be completed in three phases, with a total investment of approximately $75 million.
According to statements made by Turkmall, the mall aims to create up to 4,000 jobs once all phases are completed.
This is considered a significant economic contribution, particularly for the young population living in the Bodrum-Milas hinterland and those who struggle to find work outside the peak season.
The project will cater to a projected 50,00 to 60,000 visitors in the summer months and 15,000 in the winter months.
Novada Forum targets a wide audience from settlements such as Bodrum, Milas, Güllük, Güvercinlik, Mumcular, Meşelik and Kıyıkışlacık.
Turkmall Chairman Levent Eyüboğlu stated that Novada Forum will become the new center of attraction for the region, both due to its central location and transportation facilities.
Eyüboğlu stated, “This region was the most suitable location for the Novada Forum investment. In the first phase, we are planning a 20,000 square meter rentable area that will cater to all needs, including food and beverage, entertainment, home decor, furniture, sportswear, women’s, men’s and children’s clothing.
“This phase will be built on a 60-acre plot of land, will have a parking lot for 1,500 vehicles, and will open within 20 months. Novada Forum will have a Mediterranean town atmosphere, consisting of single-story buildings. With its shaded and spacious areas, landscaping, and water features, it will offer opportunities to attract people of all ages. It will become a much-needed meeting point for the region.
“The second and third phases cover a large area starting directly opposite the existing land and extending across the road towards Bodrum. After the first phase, we will begin construction of the other phases.”
The phases will also be opened to service within a period of 36 to 48 months. The second and third phases will operate with a premium outlet concept. We aim for Novada Forum to become the largest commercial center in the basin within the next 5-10 years,” he said.
The first phase is earmarked for opening by the spring of 2027.
