Aydin Province is now ranked fourth nationally with 39 beaches being awarded Blue Flag status. Didim has several qualifying public beaches and private resorts.
According to data released by the International Foundation for Environmental Education, the number of Blue Flag beaches in Türkiye has risen to 580. They successfully met the criteria for environmental cleanliness, seawater quality, and safety, thus earning the Blue Flag award.
Turkey maintained its position as the world’s third most sustainable tourism destination, behind Spain and Greece. Antalya topped the list with 232 beaches, followed by Muğla with 113 and İzmir with 60.
