A number of coastal plots across Didim have gone up for sale, it has been revealed.
The planned sale of an area of prime land close to hotels at Third Beach is under evaluation by the Didim Association.
The sale of parcel 1 of block 2054, located within the boundaries of Çamlık has sparked debate regarding coastal use and zoning plan implementations.
Following numerous requests from the public, the Didim Association examined the property in question and shared its findings and the public’s legitimate concerns.
One of the main concerns expressed by the people of Didim is that the structures that may be built in the area after the sale will negatively affect citizens’ access to coastal areas.
The Didim Association’s Board of Directors, after reviewing the tender announcement and zoning plans, determined that the property in question falls under the scope of the Coastal Law No. 3621. According to the city’s current zoning plan decisions, the parcel details are as follows:
Area Distribution: A portion of the property is planned as “Park Area,” while the other portion is planned as “Day-use facility area” and “General parking and road.”
Building Conditions: The plot has a maximum height for buildings as 5.50 meters (max 2 floors).
Intended Use: Only “Day-use facilities” serving food and beverage, rest, entertainment, sports, and recreation purposes may be constructed on the plot.
What are Day-Use Facilities? They are legally established areas that preserve the public character of coastal regions, allow the public to enjoy the coast without staying overnight (for day use), and aim to prevent dense construction along the coastline.
The Didim Association Board of Directors announced that, in order to prevent any potential violations of legal security and public interest principles, they will closely monitor the process of managing the property subject to sale in accordance with the zoning plans.
