If you enjoy singing, performing, meeting people and having a good laugh along the way, Didim Glee Club could be looking for you!

The Glee Club has been part of the Didim community for around 15 years, putting on everything from pantomimes and murder mysteries to social events such as its wonderfully eccentric Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea Party. And, as well as providing plenty of entertainment, the group raises money for good causes.

Now the Glee Club is looking for new members to join in the fun.

There’s no need to be a professional singer or seasoned performer. The emphasis is very much on enjoying yourself, getting involved and spending time with a friendly bunch of people. Rehearsals are held once a week, usually on Thursday mornings at Yas-Inn’s.

The group’s murder mystery productions are rehearsed during January, February and March, while the Christmas show takes over in September, October and November. So, if you’ve ever fancied having a go at performing but never quite got around to it, why not see what they get up to?

And if you’re wondering what a Glee Club social event involves, their recent Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea gives a pretty good idea.

Held at Yas-Inn’s, the event attracted 82 guests. Glee Club members baked all the sausage rolls and scones and prepared the sandwiches, while fancy plates, cake stands, teapots and teacups were borrowed from friends and fellow organisations – with a special thank you to CoDA for their help.

There was a music quiz, plenty of tea and cake, and, naturally, a sing-along to finish the afternoon. Judging by the number of people asking when the next one would be, it seems the Mad Hatter’s tea party went down rather well!

So, whether you love singing, enjoy performing, fancy trying something completely different, or simply want to meet some new people and have some fun while supporting good causes, why not give Didim Glee Club a try?

New members are being recruited now – go along to a rehearsal and see what they get up to!
