COOKING enthusiasts and artists combined for a novel event on Saturday at Moby Dick’s 3 in 1 Restaurant.

Members of Didim Arts Society presented a series of miniature paintings they had completed as part of their annual exhibition.

There was also the first annual ‘No Soggy Bottom’ bake off with sweet and spicy categories.

The cake category saw entrants from Linda Rush, Alan Ormond, Lynn Cole, Ayse Yuran, Jenny Lee and eventual winner Maureen O’connor with egg custard tart.

Judges for the contest was Bill, owner of 3 in 1 Restaurant; Karin Dalbak, owner of Circus Restaurant, and Voices newspaper editor Andy Probert.

The standard of the choice of entries were high and the judges congratulated them.

Pat said: “The event enabled the public to come and see the artistic talents of the Didim Art Group, which has worked incredibly hard this season.

“Equally, it was an opportunity to test the skills of cooks in Didim, while helping to support a local cause, Help-in-Hands.”
