Construction worker dies of electric shock

A CONSTRUCTION worker has died of electric shock after scaffolding being taken down on a development in Adnan Menderes Boulevard (Marina Road) hit overhead lines.

 

The Turkish man was said to have finished a paint job at the site when he and his colleagues began to dismantle the scaffolding.

 

During this removal, one of the scaffolds hit overhead power lines, causing the man serious injury.

 

He was taken by emergency services to Didim State Hospital, but he was pronounced dead. The man was married with two children.

 

The police have launched an investigation into the incident

 

Dog rescued by Zabita

A SMALL dog locked away in an apartment for several days has been rescued by Didim council teams.

 

Neighbours complained to the Zabita that a small dog had been barking all day and night in the apartment in Sokak 889

 

Council teams arrived and on being told that the terrier had been locked up for at least five days, gained access and rescued the small terrier dog. The dog has been taken to the animal shelter.
