Update

ALTINKUM beach and surrounding areas were continuing to undergo a transformation this week.

As good as his word, Didim Mayor Deniz Atabay oversaw the Altinkum beachfront being cleaned up, the beach being scrapped daily and the planters getting new plants.

Didim council has apparently bought in the order of 90,000 plants to be planted and distributed across the front and into other areas.

At Second Beach, efforts were under way to clean the frontages up, while on Third Beach there was evidence of beach cleaning and even sun loungers beginning to appear for the public.

In line with this, the council has also issued major posters informing people and builders of the May 15 ban on building works, that hassling is not allowed and it aims of reclaiming pavements, with products, good, tables and chairs spilling on to the streets, not being allowed.
