Update

THE official opening of the centre and gardens for the disabled community of Didim was cancelled in light of the Soma mining disaster.

The opening was due to be the highlight of Disability Week – a series of promotional events to highlight the work of the disabled and efforts to integrate the community.

The training centre for the disabled is located on Sokak 1303, which is the third turning on the right after Anadolu Cadessi near the top of Ege Caddesi, in Didim. Set on 2,000 sq m of land, the centre will also include a park and sensory garden area for the disabled.

Civic dignitaries were due to attend the opening on Wednesday May 14 but this has been cancelled. A new date has yet to be announced.
