Didim clean up hits centre and outskirts

Update

IT seems that the great clean up of Didim is under way – from cleaning down bus shelters to chopping down advertising signs.

As Didim Mayor Deniz Atabay promised, one of the main of focuses in the first months of his reign is to get the resort cleaned up.

And it seems that his promises are being to bear fruit: workers from the council’s Directorate of Sanitation were seen in and around the city centre cleaning bus shelters and getting rid of posts on lamp posts.

Atabay wants to give the town a better image – and so the work continued with a number of ugly advertising hoardings out towards Tasburun were brought down.

One of the signs close to Green Park 3 was brought crashing and abandoned in a olive grove with residents’ hopes that it will be taken away before long.

Residents queried why other advertising hoardings have remained and the Voices was trying to make enquiries as this week’s paper went to press.
