SUMMER’s here, the tourists are here – and so are the unwelcome burglars who are trying to get into properties in new ways and make everyone’s lives a misery.

A reader has warned that burglars are trying to get into properties by using a plastic credit card.

She writes: “I reported a couple of weeks ago that two well dressed women were going into open complexes and trying all doors, gaining entry and stealing cash and jewellery.

“It has happened again to a family that was by the pool. Although these metal doors look secure, they can easily be opened with a plastic card if not locked. Please top lock your door every time, either when you are in or when you are by the pool.

“Only last week when my husband went out, less than 5 mins later someone was trying our door.”

She added: “I opened the door and they asked if I had lost my credit card they had in their hand (which they were) obviously trying (to open) my door! When I said I knew what they were doing they ran down the stairs and out of the building.”
