No delays from Brum to Bodrum

NOBODY likes being stuck in an airport waiting room longing for the next announcement about your flight, so maybe play it safe and fly to Bodrum this year.

Flights from Birmingham International Airport to Bodrum had the lowest average delay last year at only 18 seconds.

The Thomas Cook operated journey held off two Baltic flights by budget airline provider Ryanair for the top spot. Trips to Gdansk in Poland and Kaunus in Lithuania being held up by an average of 54 seconds.

But spare a thought for those flying out to the capital of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat. On average last year passengers to the city were stuck for 46 minutes on each outbound journey.

The flight with the longest average delay of all is the Manchester to New York (JFK) service operated by Pakistan International Airlines. It has an average delay of 81 minutes.

Nationally the average delay for all domestic and foreign flights stood at 11 minutes and 12 seconds. In total the 1,430,358 flights to and from major UK airports since last May have been delayed by a total of 30.5 years.
