FRENCH singer-songwriter Zaz will perform next month in Bodrum as part of the new “Bodrum International Moonlight Festival.”

The festival will be held from September 3-10 at Bodrum Castle and the town’s ancient theater in a program divided into two parts: theatre performances and concerts.

Zaz, who is mostly known for her hit single “Je veux” in Turkey, will take part in the second part of the program at the ancient theater, playing the closing concert of the festival on September 10.

The second leg of the program includes a performance by The 12 Tenors, made up of international musicians who have performed at the musicals of the West End and Broadway, and the staging of “The Spirit of Ireland,” a popular dance show from Ireland, on September 9.

The first part of the program at the north ditch of the castle will feature theater performances by Turkey’s established theater companies with Sadri Alışık’s company presenting the first play of the series, “Yatak Odası Diyalogları” (Bedroom Dialogues), written by TV series director Birol Güven on September 3.

It will be followed by Kumbaracı Theater’s “Kimsenin Ölmediği Bir Günün Ertesiydi” (After the Day Nobody Died), a one-person play written, directed and played by Sumru Yavrucuk, on September 4.

“Yaşamaya Dair — Bursa Cezaevi’nden Mektuplar” (On Living — Letters from Bursa Prison) a production about the life and imprisonment of 20th-century poet Nazım Hikmet from veteran actor Genco Erkal’s company Dostlar Theater will be performed on September 5.
