Suspect detained in Didim for 2001 killing

A MAN living under a false identity in Didim has been detained in relation of a killing in Nazilli 13 years ago.

Details emerging of the arrest suggest the suspect was wanted for the 2001 murder, of which few details have been released.

However, following intelligence reports and a six-month police investigation, a man, identified only by his initials as SA, aged 32, was arrested by police in Didim.

Security forces arrested the man and discovered he was living under a false identity. He was also wanted for two other separate matters and referred to the public prosecutor. 

According to local media, following a trial for the Nazilli murder, a sentence was handed down to the murderer of 15 years, 2 months and 15 days.
