New visa office for Turks heading for Greece

TURKISH residents may soon be able to apply for a visa to visit Greece from Didim’s Chamber of Commerce this summer.

The plan was raised during a visit to commerce officials by Izmir Consul General of Greece Theodore Tsakiris.

Both parties have agreed to have further meetings to ensure the legalities are fulfilled. The Chamber of Commerce said it was interested in making an application to the necessary Turkish ministry to fulfill its role.

Chinese citizen praised by Mayor

A Chinese resident has been praised for her efforts in promoting the resort.

Yang li Juan was praised by the mayor during an official visit to his office recently.

Construction case goes to court

A CONSTRUCTION company which was stopped in its tracks from building a 9 storey block close to Tuntas Beach has taken Didim Council to court against the action.

As reported in Voices several months ago, Didim Mayor Deniz Atabay and his officers cancelled the permission and licence for the project even though groundworks had already been completed.

The company concerned said the actions had stopped a 50 million Turkish Lira development going ahead despite the fact that 40 of the 93 apartments had apparently been sold.

The case is now ongoing.

Didim return to action

DIDIMSPOR return to action this Sunday (Feb 8) with the aim of holding to their third place spot.

The team have won two and lost two in their last four games, so will be looking to return to winning ways when they play fourth-placed Sindirgi away.

Didim are nine points off leaders Manisa and three points off second-placed Atillaspor.
