School’s EU bid to improve catering skills

STUDENTS at Adnan Menderes University’s Didim Vocational School have been included in a 7.5 million Euro project to increase training quality and environmental awareness in tourism sector

The school’s bid within the specialist TUYUP project was accepted and endorsed by the Turkish Ministry for Culture and Tourism.

The project locally will help aim to increase the vocational, technical and foreign language skills of students in front desk, service, housekeeping and kitchen of licensed establishments within the framework of EU standards and needs. 

The bid team included Adnan Menderes University Prof. Dr. Atila Yuksel, Dr. Berrin Guzel and Dr. Osman Culha. 

The 30 month-project, began in January 2014 and is planned to be completed in July 2016.
