Richard Rush, Team Leader

AKUT is a search and rescue organisation founded in Turkey.

AKUT is a self-funding organisation funded by volunteers. There is no government or political influences.

The headquarters is in Istanbul and each branch of AKUT receives much guidance and support from there.

logotype (expand)It is quite a young group and consequently there are only 36 groups presently in Turkey.

Here in Didim, we are lucky to have a team. Like every voluntary group, we are always looking for new members.

Didim is the first English/Turkish AKUT group in Turkey.

We meet up every fortnight at Didim Fire Station (Opposite Saturday Market) on Wednesdays at 7pm.

Each meeting is different with various training sessions lasting till about 9pm.

Why not come along and take a loo, better still bring your Turkish neighbour and friends too.

Our current members are working hard to raise the profile of AKUT in Didim. Everyone is welcome and it’s free.
