A THIRD Didim expat – who was one of the few to become a naturalised Turk – has died.

Keith Robinson, who had lived in the resort for 14 years, passed away at Aydin Hospital last Thursday (Jan 28).

A friend of Mr Robinson’s, Vinnie Coleman, told Voices that Keith had lived in Camlik district after moving there with his wife Brenda. She passed away a few years ago.

He said: “I believe Keith was one of the first if not the only man to become a naturalised Turk, adopting the name Mustafa Kemal Sonmel.

“He has many, many friends in Altinkum as well in the UK who will not know of his passing.

“He was an absolute gentleman and legend who will be greatly missed.”

Keith, originally from St Helens, was buried on Saturday afternoon (Jan 30) and there was a good turnout from patrons of Genghis Bar and the Emin Hotel where he had many friends.

His passing is the third expat that Voices is aware  to have died in the last 13 days.

Mr Peter Rigg died in the UK on January 20.

This was followed by the death of Chris Mann. Mr Mann was buried on January 27.
