BEACH-goers have the opportunity to leave their valuables at a bank of safety deposit boxes serving Altinkum beach.

The boxes, which are being provided by Didim Council, are available for 5TL a day, including tax.

Didim Mayor Deniz Atabay said the boxes were being provided to help combat petty theft on the beaches.

He said: “People are looking for places where they can leave items such as an amount of money or mobile phone that they have brought with them. That’s why we have provided the safety deposit boxes.

“The area where the boxes are is also backed up by CCTV. We plan to place the safety deposit boxes at other beaches in due course.”
