A YOUNG Kusadasi businessman has proposed to his girlfriend while on an underwater adventure through the sunken A300 Airbus jet off the Aegean coast.

The plane was put to the bottom of the sea off Kuşadası back in June.

Keen scuba diver Çağrı Göker decided to stage the underwater proposal to his girlfriend Hatice Erge at the weekend, little knowing it would be next to the wreck.

Çağrı called on scuba diving outfit Aquaventurue Dalış Merkezi to help out on the dive.

As they sank to the bottom close to the Airbus ruin, a banner was unfurled asking Hatice ‘Will you marry me?’ as he proposed to her.

Hatice said yes and, adding to reporters when she emerged: “I did not expect such a surprise marriage proposal. That was the happiest moment of my life, even if it was under water.” Cağrı commented he had now realized a big dream.
