Fees hike for museums and historical sites

VISITING local historical sites and museums will become more expensive from October 1, it has been announced.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has increased the entrance fees to its museums and ruins between 20 per cent and 50 per cent.

Accordingly, as of October 1, 2018, domestic and foreign tourists visiting Didim’s Apollo Temple will have to shell out  15TL on the admission fee – compared to the current 10TL.

Entering the Aphrodiasis Museum and ruins will set you back 20TL, compared to 15TL, while the entrance fee to the Miletus Museum and ruins will now be 12TL, compared to 8TL previously.

Pamukkale entrance fee goes from 35 TL to 50 TL; Topkapı Palace entrance fee from 40 TL to 60 TL; Ephesus ruins from 40 TL to 60 TL, and Nevşehir Goreme from 30 TL to 45 TL.

The Muzekart+, a card which enables you to enter many historic ruins and museums across Turkey, will now rise from 50TL to cost 70 TL. The Museumpass Turkey card rises from 210TL to 315TL.

The varying costs of the Muzekart+ and the Museumpass apply due to a number of conditions.
