Summer Ball raises 9,000TL for Help in Hands

RESIDENTS turned out in force for the traditional Summer Ball dinner dance, hosted by Help-in-Hands charity, and did themselves proud by raising 9,000TL

The Summer Ball – an active fundraiser for the many Help-in-Hands’ projects throughout the year – was hosted at the Mavi Kitchen restaurant on September 5. Rewind, Tanya and a comedian entertained during the evening. There was also a raffle and a free draw.

The charity’s Lynn Cole said: “It was a spectacular night and the entertainment was first class. Oracle sponsored the room decorations, Mavi stepped up to the plate as the food was excellent and the whole night was wonderful.

“Around 250 guest attended and we made an amazing amount.”

She said that one of the highlights of the night was Lewis, an eight year old boy who saved his pocket money of 30tl while here on holiday, donated the money to the charity.

“Lots of people are already asking for the dates for next year so they can book their flights around it. It will take some matching but it was a great night with fantastic company.”

Mavi Kitchen has also agreed to be a drop off point for unwanted clothes in the future, and she thanked everyone for their support.

‘Help In Hands’ in Didim has contributed towards several projects, mainly for the disabled and disadvantaged in the resort, as well as other projects in hospitals and schools. The campaigns and social projects are in partnership with the Didim City Council.

Didim City Council Chairman Osman Ayyıldız praised the residents for their extensive efforts.
