Tender set for synthetic pitch

AFTER the destruction of the synthetic field next to the Didim Atatürk Stadium, a new tender has been prepared for its improvement.

The pitch has become unplayable causing much disruption to around 20 teams, including several amateur groups, master teams, and Didim Belediyespor.

After oral and written applications of the clubs were made to the Aydın Provincial Directorate of Youth Sports and Didim District Directorate, preparation of the tender under FİFA standards have been completed. The tender also includes improvements to the changing rooms and admin block.

It is hoped that on completion of the contract, the work will be completed within 60 days.

Sports lovers have spoken to local media saying they are pleased that a more modern synthetic field will be installed, but are concerned that local teams are due to begin league action very soon.

Concerns over rising school costs

The Didim Eğitim Sen Temsilciliği (Senior Education Rep) drew attention to the increases of schooling at the start of the new term this week.

Education Sen Didim Representative Teacher Turgay Elçi said parents were having to see price increases heading into the new academic year for a number of things.

School expenses increased include a notebook rising from 3 TL to 6 TL and a block of A4 paper rising from around 8-10 TL, to 22 TL this year.

Elçi said that due to these increases, parents have to choose between the products and expenditure on meeting the health needs of their children.

Auction tender applications extended

THE DEADLINE for applications for 35 pieces of land in Didim by the Ministry of Finance and Treasury Administration has been extended.

Tender documents were to be received for the land out towards the Akbuk Road

The land has been released for auction by the government’s Privatization Administration.

The deadline for applications had been set for September 18, but that has now been extended to various date relating to individual plots. Deadlines range from November 16 to November 22.
