Update

THE Plogging in Didim Group is continuing to gain momentum in Turkish society, education circles – and now have plans to highlight its work at next month’s Vegfest.

While the group continues to regularly patrol the Didim coastline for rubbish, it also has a very active Facebook group.

At its most recent monthly meeting, more than 30 people turned out at Koko Cafe.

The latest monthly meeting saw a bumper crop of members

Within the last month, 28 new members joined the group and 22 were Turkish.

The group’s members have also visited the Kaymakam, the Milli-Egitim Dept and the council, and have permission to give a presentation at local schools later in the Spring.

The council has been hugely supportive of the Group with the provision of bin bags and gloves, transport if they need it, and also come out to plog meets, help out and take rubbish away.

The Group will also take up stand at the Didim Vegfest from April 19-22.
