Didim forest among public ban to prevent fires

MAJOR steps have been taken to prevent public entrance to a number of Aydin forests, including one in the Didim area, in a bid to prevent fires from occurring in natural habitats.

The decree, issued to governors across Turkey, follows the large fire that wiped out many hectares of forest in Marmaris last week.

In order to protect our forests against fires, the Aydın Governorship has forbidden entry to several state forests, including Didim’s Çamlıburun State Forest (Çamlıburun Devlet Ormanı).

However, Dilek Peninsula National Park is excluded from the prohibition. Visitors will be able to continue to use these areas for recreational purposes within the rules determined by the administration.

Aydın Governorship said unauthorized access to the determined forested areas would be in force until 31 October 2022. Those who do not comply with the rules will be penalized.
