Pet Cemetery Plea for Didim

Update

CoDA’s founders, Roy and Lyn Dulledge, have petitioned the Municipality to open a pet cemetery in Didim.

In the petition they prepared with the help of legislature Özlem Çokgüler, they requested the Municipality to allocate a place where burial services can be held and animals be buried.

Lyn said: “We have spoken to the Mayor of Didim many times in the last two years about the animal cemetery. But they said it was a land issue. However, the state has to allocate land for the animal cemetery.

“Like us, there are many animal lovers who worry about where they will put their beloved pet once they have passed away. We have six and knowing where they would be put if they passed now doesn’t bear thinking about. We hope there will be a cemetery like the one in Kuşadası, built and operated by Kuşadası Municipality.”

Roy and Lyn, who have been volunteering for street and shelter animals in Didim for a long time, founded CoDA to help more animals.

They opened the CoDA Care of Didim Animals Facebook page in order to raise awareness and organize the group members. Late last year, with the help of their friend Fulya, they made CoDA a registered charity.
