Pottery product, which is one of the symbol professions in Aydın’s Karacasu district and whose history goes back hundreds of years, continue to contribute to the economy of the district and the country as an export.

Stating that they sent the second export order of the year, Hüseyin Kocabıyık, the owner of Kardeşler Pottery Business, said: “We have a situation to export one or two more times before the end of the year.”

Kardeşler Pottery has a natural red colour, has a geographical indication and is produced without additives. The Middle East journey of Karacasu pottery, which was previously sent to countries such as Romania, Germany, and Kazakhstan and had a significant trade volume, especially with Saudi Arabia, gained momentum in 2023 after the export restriction between Turkey and Arabia was lifted.

Those who bought Karacasu products through a wholesaler before Hüseyin Kocabıyık, the owner of the Kardeşler Çömlek business, stated that they delivered the products to an Arabian customer for the second time without an intermediary.

He said they prepared 7,000 thousand pieces of products to fill a container consisting of approximately 20 different product types and set them on the road.
Expressing that they are also in the middle of the season in the domestic market, Kocabıyık said, “Besides, we are making the second export of the year. We are happy about this. We are happy about that. A friend of ours who bought goods from us before, takes him directly to Saudi Arabia without an intermediary, as in the last time. It may be a little more tiring for us in terms of procedures, but we are happy to contribute to our county and country. We send goods in 7-8 months of the year. This means that we can make the third expedition before the end of the year.

“There are various products from the dispenser to the water jug. There are coffee pots, teapots and ornaments. We are also trying to raise the orders we receive from the domestic market.”
