Dilay performs recital in Los Angeles

Aydın’s Dilay Ra Oygür gave a concert at the Los Angeles Walt Disney Hall in the USA after she won the 2023 New York Golden Classical Music Awards.

Oygür was applauded for her performance by performing the Turkish composer Erdal Tuğcular’s piece ‘Long Air’ with the cello.

She still continues her cello education at Aydın Adnan Menderes University State Conservatory Music and Performing Arts High School in 3rd grade. Continuing with Özgür Elgün, Dilay Ra Oygür was awarded the first prize in the 16-year-old category at the Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition held in the United States in 2023.

After this great success, Oygür received a concert invitation from the USA. The young cellist, who went to America for the award ceremony, took to the stage at the concert held at the Los Angeles Walt Disney Hall.

Oygür received great acclaim with her performance which was attended by invited, distinguished guests.

After the concert, Oygür paid a courtesy visit to the Los Angeles Consulate and had the opportunity to meet with Consul General Sinan Kuzum and the Consulate General officials. Oygür gave her second concert at the Atatürk Cultural Center established by Turkish citizens living in Los Angeles.

Oygür, who began playing the cello at the age of 10 and has achieved great success with the instrument hasn’t stopped since then. She thanked her sponsor for the concert tour, Vega Sankur and her husband Haluk Sankur, California Turkish American Association President Nalan Güngör Özışık, Colburn University Conservatory Violin Lecturer Volkan Can Canbolat and expressed her gratitude to Charles W. Liu and all the other benefactors who supplied her with Alberto Blanchi’s 1932 cello.
