Didimspor volleyball team is to compete in the Turkey Volleyball Women’s 2nd League and has begun its preparations for the new season which starts from October 22.

Didimspor women’s volleyball team, which was established last year and qualified to compete in the Turkish Women’s Volleyball 2nd League by fulfilling all the conditions this season, gave information to the press.

Didim District Youth and Sports Director Ufuk Founder, Didimspor 2nd President Özkan Caymaz, Didimspor coach Yücel Sevindi and volleyball players answered the questions of the press before the training.

Mr Caymaz said, “We are the first professional sports club in Didim. Our club honorary president Deniz Polat attaches great importance to sports. After what we did in football, we saw a deficiency here.

“We have created an organization for our girls to participate in sports. Last year we started the infrastructure. We created young stars and a young team. We also achieved success with that team. This year we participated in the second league.

“Our goal is to qualify for the playoffs, which is also a priority for coach Yücel, and to advance step by step to the Sultans league. Good things will happen in Didim. But for this, of course, we need the support of the people of Didim. Audience support is always important.”

The team’s first game is at home to Söke on October 22. Team. The grouping also includes teams from Aydın and Muğla.

Didimspor coach Yücel Sevindi said: “We never spent the summer period idle with our children here. Of course, both we and our managers contacted variable players regarding foreign transfers. We were meeting with players who could be useful to us and contribute to Didim and Didimspor.

“Our negotiations are currently continuing. There are also players we agree with. There are also players we interviewed. As Mr. Özkan just said, our goal is here. To go step by step and rise to the top of the Sultans League as Didimspor.”

“Ultimately, our aim is to bring the children of this region to this place. That’s why we continued without interruption throughout the summer. Our aim here is to create the best team to represent this place and to advance to the Sultans League with only our athletes from Didim and its surroundings, without making any external transfers from this region.

District Youth and Sports Director Ufuk Founder stated that it is pleasing that Didimspor is in the women’s volleyball 2nd League and said, “It is one of the distinguished clubs of our district. As you know, Didim is now used intensively and actively in terms of sports tourism and national championships.

“I am very hopeful about this season. I hope it will be a league that can be an example for our youth athletes and young volleyball players. I wish them success and thank you in advance.”
