Didim Municipality celebrates 100th Anniversary of the Republic

Didim Municipality celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Republic’s establishment with a series of events.

As part of the festivities, a “100th Year Inter-Institutional Football Tournament” organized by the Municipality concluded with the final match being played on the evening of October 24th.

On October 25th, at 7:00 PM, there was a presentation of “Atatürk’s Beloved Songs and Waltz” at the Apollon Temple vicinity.

Wreaths was laid at the Atatürk monument.

On October 26th, at 5:30 PM, a Zumba event took place in the amphitheatre green area. Later that day, at 8:00 PM, a special “Zeybek” dance performance involving 100 people was held at Kent Square in honour of the 100th anniversary of the Republic. This lively performance showcased participants of all age groups, coming together to dance the traditional Zeybek in perfect harmony, receiving widespread acclaim from the audience.

On October 27th, in Kent Meydanı, a spectacular Zeybek performance with 100 participants from various age groups took place. The regional folk dance was performed in perfect synchrony, enchanting the audience with its rhythmic beauty.

On October 28th, Didim Kent Meydanı hosted an official ceremony. Wreaths from the Kaymakamlık, Garnizon Komutanlığı, and Belediye Başkanlığı were laid at the Atatürk monument. After a moment of silence and the singing of the İstiklal Marşı (National Anthem), the official ceremony concluded.

On the 29th of October, at 7:00 PM, a torchlight procession began in front of the Municipality and continued with a march to Kent Square. As the enthusiastic citizens made their way to the square, they sang various songs and anthems. The grand finale concluded with a concert by Moğollar.
