Update

Didim Rotaract Club, within the scope of the 25 November International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, prepared a “femicide tally” to give voice to murdered women.

The tally of femicides is created by compiling the murders that were reported in the press and where the active factor was male.

The purpose of the tally is not to instil hopelessness, but to remind us that femicides are not isolated examples but a result of systematic male violence and that it is necessary to fight against it.

The tally created by the Didim Rotaract Club by scanning the news in the press invites national and local governments, legislators and the judiciary to support the fight against women. In 2023, within Turkey, the tally reports that 347 women fell victim to femicide at the hands of men.

Didim Rotaract Club was established in 2012. It has 23 active members and continues its activities within the framework of Rotaract principles.
