DIDIM was second only to Kusadasi in the amount of houses sold throughout the Aydin province in the first six months of this year.

In total, 13,772 residential units were sold in Aydin between January and the end of June.

Kusadasi registered 3,943 houses sales, while Didim notched up 3,627 sales.

The Didim estates agent’s association said that the bulk of the 3,627 houses sales were to Turks, but surprisingly, they were followed by British, at a time when the appetite for Brits are to sell and move on.

AkbukPine04House sales in Didim also saw other nationalities including those from the Middle Eastern countries, as well as Iran, Azerbaijan and Pakistan showing a presence in the resort.

The six months figures showed April was the most popular sales month in Didim with 666 properties sold, followed by February, May, June, March and January.

An association spokesman said: “Appetite from the Middle East is increasing, although demand from Turks has, as ever, remained high.”

The data was drawn from the government’s Statistics Office.
