DIDIM’s public prosecutor Abdullah Altınbaş has been detained for questioning as part of a mass-arrest of 6,000 people as part of a government counter-operation against Friday night’s coup plotters.

He was taken into custody and his home searched and paperwork confiscated by police.

He was detained under investigation in connection with the coup attempt.

As part of the same moves, 72 police officers were suspended across Aydin. In Didim, one chief officer, one sergeant and three police officers had their handguns confiscated.

In Aydin, 60 people including judges, laywers, businessmen have all been detained for questioning.
