Although renowned for summer tourism, Turkey holds significant potential for winter tourism. There are 10 ski resorts in our country. Let’s take a closer look at some of them:

Uludağ Ski Resort, Bursa: When it comes to a skiing holiday, Uludağ, standing at 2,543m is the largest mountain in Western Anatolia and the first destination that comes to mind. Uludağ offers suitable geographical conditions for Alpine and Nordic disciplines, as well as activities like “Tour Skiing” and “Helicopter Skiing”. Apart from skiing, activities such as snowboarding, bigfoot skiing, ice skating, and snowmobile rides are available. There are 24 slopes catering to everyone from beginners to professionals.

Palandöken Ski Resort, Erzurum: At 3185m high, the Palandöken mountains in Erzurum offer an authentic atmosphere and are one of the most popular ski resorts in the East. High altitude, quality snow, and a long winter provide an unlimited skiing experience. Travelling to Erzurum solely for skiing might seem like a long journey, but combining it with a magnificent train ride on the Eastern Express makes it worthwhile. Palandöken has 22 slopes, two of which have been declared Olympic slopes by the International Ski Federation.

Denizli Ski Resort, Denizli: At an altitude of 2,420m in Nikfer Bozdağ, Denizli Ski Resort, the second “white” attraction after Pamukkale, awaits ski enthusiasts from the Aegean Region. The resort is located 141km from Denizli Airport and 147km from Muğla. With six slopes of varying difficulty, it’s a smaller but enjoyable place compared to other ski resorts. While there, stay at thermal hotels, and visit Pamukkale and the ancient city of Hierapolis.

Kartalkaya Ski Resort, Bolu: Located east of Bolu, on the summit of the Köroğlu Mountains, Kartalkaya Ski Resort embraces visitors with the green of pine trees and the purity of white. Kartalkaya welcomes skiing enthusiasts with 21 slopes of different difficulty levels. While there, admire the breathtaking views of Lake Abant in Bolu. Just make sure you dress warmly and bring some hot beverages.

Saklıkent Ski Resort, Antalya: If you only know Antalya for its sea, you might be surprised, there is a ski resort there, too. Located in the Beydağları section of the Taurus Mountains, Saklıkent Ski Resort is one of the ski facilities closest to the Mediterranean and the Equator, comprising 500 mountain houses and ski facilities. Especially towards the end of February and in March, the slogan “Ski in the day, sea in the afternoon” highlights Saklıkent. The ski resort, at an altitude of 2550m, has the highest temperatures in Turkey due to its mild climate. With 5 slopes, there are quality skiing opportunities from December-April.

Salda Ski Resort, Burdur: Located 77km from the centre of Burdur and 17km from Yeşilova, Salda Ski Resort offers skiing with wonderful views of nearby Lake Salda. At an altitude of 2,079m, the resort has five slopes of difficulty, the longest being 1600m.
