Turkey Expands Flight Network to 130 Countries

At the Ajet Launch Ceremony held in Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, highlighted significant advancements in Turkey’s aviation sector.

Uraloğlu emphasized the remarkable growth achieved since 2002, with active airports increasing from 26 to 57 and terminal capacity rising from 55 million to 337.45 million passengers.

Speaking at the event, Minister Uraloğlu revealed that Turkey’s international flight network now spans 343 destinations in 130 countries.

The nation has witnessed a staggering 472% growth in the flight network over the last 21 years, with the total number of aircraft soaring from 489 in 2002 to 1,813 presently, signifying a 270% increase.

Additionally, Minister Uraloğlu announced plans to bolster Anadolujet’s market competitiveness by transitioning its operations to ‘Ajet Air Transportation Company,’ fully supported by Turkish Airlines (THY).

Originally established in 2008, Anadolujet previously operated solely within the domestic sector but expanded its services to include international flights from Sabiha Gökçen Airport in 2020.
