Burcu Salman, originally hailing from a village in Karaman, began her educational journey at the age of 10. After graduating from Aksaray University with a degree in Psychological Counseling and Guidance, she realized her dream of becoming a teacher and now passionately works as one in Izmir.

Burcu, a 27-year-old visually impaired guidance teacher appointed to a kindergarten in Izmir this year, shared a powerful message for families on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

She stressed the importance of families not feeling ashamed of their disabled children and encouraged them to believe in their potential.

Despite her visual impairment, Burcu is dedicated to preparing her students for the future. Taking joy and fulfilment in her profession, she particularly excels in nurturing communication and self-expression among her students.

She encourages them to draw pictures and explain their creations to strengthen their ability to express themselves.
