Update

By Anne Baxter-Cooper

9 hardy ploggers braved the bracing breeze on a bright, fresh February morning. Thank you to the Belediye for inviting us to join with Fevzi Pasa Akbuk primary school and the Marine Litter Watch group at Uslu Sitesi.

It was a pleasure to see the children who are doing a project on Environmental issues, actively engaging in the plogging with us.

Well done to the team from the council & Marine Litter Group for sorting all the rubbish collected into different categories and collating the information.

Buckets were provided for different types of litter: plastic, paper, metal, glass, fishing rope , cigarette ends etc. – plastic won with the metal (beer bottle tops) & cigarette ends coming close behind.
We hope to have the opportunity of working together with this group again in the future. Thank you to all who came!
